Week ending 26th September 2025
Our new book for the next two weeks is 'Real Heroes'. We have been talking about all the different kinds of real heroes from fire fighters to refuse collectors and how important their jobs are. Children have enjoyed dressing up in our role play area that we made as a doctors surgery. They have been practicing their fine motor skills by threading cotton reels onto coloured laces and doing small wooden jigsaw puzzles. Outside the children have been dressing up as firefighters and busy building a fire engine using the large wooden blocks. They have used the foam bricks to make houses so they could pretend to put out the fires. Thankyou to all the adults that attended our Rhyme Time session, it was lovely to see you all.
Week ending 19th September 2025
This week we have continued our learning about bodies and have enjoyed the book 'Eyes, Nose, Fingers ,Toes' for another week. The children had a great dance session on Monday with Sarah from Lane Academy Dance, they listened well and followed her instructions. The children had fun decorating their own gingerbread person with different coloured icing. We drew around one of our friends and then labelled body parts. In the outside area we have exploring what there is to do and have been creating obstacle courses.

Welcome to our Nursery page! It has been wonderful to welcome the new children to Caterpillar's Class. Our new children are settling in well and our returning pupils are enjoying being back. This week we have begun our topic for this half term 'All About Me'. Our book for the next two weeks is 'Eyes, Nose, Fingers and Toes'. The children have been very busy exploring lots of different activities around the setting. We have been looking at our faces in a mirror and talking about what features we have on them. Then the children made there own faces using paper plates and other different materials. We have been singing songs all about our bodies like '1 finger, 1 thumb keep moving' and 'Head , Shoulders, Knees and Toes'. It has been busy and fun week back!
