Week 2
This week we have been watching our seeds start to sprout. In Science we have been labelling the parts of a plant and we have tried to remember the word Germinate!
In Art we looked at the work of Keith Haring and created paintings in different poses using bold colours and a black outline, just as he did.
We have been using our phonic skills to write parts of the story of the Hungry Caterpillar and have been trying to remember to use our finger spaces.
The weather has been beautiful this week, so we have been playing outside using our imaginations to create stories and learning to play with our friends, waiting turns for toys and talking while we play.
Week One
This week we have been reading and reciting the story of The very Hungry Caterpillar- a real favourite of ours. Not only did we taste  fruit like the caterpillar but we have also been acting out the story with our cuddly caterpillar which turns into a butterfly. We used soft balloons to print our own caterpillars and made symmetrical butterflies by splodging paint onto paper and then smoothing it out. Each of us probably remembers doing to this activity at school!
In our Science lesson we were learning about germination and recalling what we already knew about what plants and seeds need to grow well. We have planted some peas and some tiny carrot seeds in hand made newspaper pots. We can't wait to see them grow so we can plant them in our outdoor area.
Do you remember we made hairy grass caterpillars at the end of term? Well two of our class have sent in photos of their caterpillars! They are super hairy! What do you think?
Unfortunately our school one didn't get enough water, so we are trying to make it grow now!
