Welcome!
Our topic this half term is 'All About Me' which gives us the perfect opportunity to get to know the children as they settle in to school life and new routines. The knowledge organiser below shows the key vocabulary and specific areas of learning that we will be covering through our topic.
Please ensure all clothing is named.
Monday - Dance with Mrs Parker (no kit required)
Tuesday - Forest School with Mr Malster (Welly boots and waterproofs required)
Friday - The children get the opportunity to borrow a book from our library that they can share at home. Please can the books be returned to school every week so that they can be changed.
Week 1
It has been a very tiring first week for the children as they have been exploring their new environment, making new friends and discovering new routines. Their journey to becoming a reader in school has already begun as they have started to orally blend sounds and learn the letter sounds m, s and d. They have been developing their hand muscles for writing with daily dough disco activities. The children have impressed us with their independence and their critical thinking, especially when following their own lines of enquiries when playing in the water tray. The children have bravely tried new food at lunchtimes and have been showing us how kind and caring they are. It has been a very busy and enjoyable first week!
