Our topic books for this half term are Commotion in the Ocean, Sharing a Shell and Go, Go Pirate Boat.
Week ending 20th June
We have had a very busy week. Our new book this week has been 'Sharing a Shell'. The children have been learning about rock pools and the importance of sharing. The children have done really well sharing our toys with each other. With it being hot we have had a lot of fun with the water play activities.
We also had Sports Day on Wednesday. The children were brilliant out on the field and had lots of fun doing the different activities. Well done Parents for coming and joining in with your child/ren! It was a very hot day but everyone did so well!
Week ending 6th June
This week our book has been Commotion in the Ocean. The children have enjoyed hearing about all the different creatures that live in the sea. They have enjoyed making their own paper plate octopuses, counting out how many tentacles they needed. The children have been investigating the ice that had fish in and predicting what will happen to the ice over the day. They have been using different building bricks to make their own sea creatures.
Week ending 13th June
This week we have continued with the book 'Commotion in the Ocean'. Children had fun making their own musical shakers using yoghurt pots and then filling them with rice and lentils. We have had lots of fun in the sand making sand castles and using the moulds to make sea creatures. With the weather being hot children made their own fans to cool themselves down. They made their own designs on paper and then an adult helped them to fold the paper.
