Week 4
This week we all had good fun making crowns. We used stickers to decorate them and some of us were able to create a repeating pattern on the crown. Some of us used the crowns to act out a coronation and we loved cheering hooray at the end! In Maths some of us have been using a dice and counting play people into the matching Numicon shape to 6. Some of us have been counting larger numbers using tens and ones. We have all enjoyed learning some new songs and dances in our sensory session after lunch. Our favourite one is one about making pancakes!
Week 3
This week we celebrated VE day with a fish and chip street party on the playground. The sun came out and we were so proud that all of the class came outside to join the rest of the school for the occasion. Lots of us loved dipping the chips in the ketchup and waving the flags! We enjoyed a new sensory story 'The Queens Hat'. In the story there are lots of London landmarks. We watched clips of the London underground, the marching Kings guards at Buckingham palace, the London eye and London zoo. We enjoyed listening to the sounds of the underground train and guessing the animal sounds at the zoo.
Week 2
With the warmer weather this week we have enjoyed using the watering cans outside to water the plants. We have also all had fun playing basketball with the children from other classes. Some of us have been practising bouncing the ball with one hand and some of us like throwing the ball up to get it in the hoop! We have also been good at taking turns with our friends. During our topic session we watched the Kings guard and Buckingham palace, marching to a band. We had a go being the leader and marching around the room and to different rooms to the marching band. Some of us used strips of paper to make a union jack flag and some of us made patterns with red, white and blue Lego bricks. We have lots of royal play people to play with and some of us have been able to name King, Queen, Prince and Princess.
Week 1
This week it was great to see everyone back after the Easter break. We have enjoyed some new play activities, bubbly water with the tea set, dry cereal shapes with spoons and bowls, kings and queens play people and red, white a blue Lego to make flags. Our topic this half term is 'Kings and Queens' and we started it by watching clips of King Charles and the Royal family at Buckingham palace and communities waving Union Jack flags when they visit different places. Some of us enjoyed dressing up in cloaks and dresses.
